Who We Are

About Steel Shade Kits

Steel Shade Kits, LLC engineers and ships complete steel shade-structure kits — carports, gazebos, and pergolas — direct to property owners across the United States. Every structure is built to a commercial standard and arrives permit-ready, so the same engineering that shelters a work yard can just as easily go up in a backyard.

What We Build

Three structures. One over-built frame.

We make three core structures — the steel carport, the steel gazebo, and the steel pergola — on one shared, heavily over-engineered frame, plus the EZ Foundation that anchors them to the ground. Each one is sold as a complete kit: every beam, bracket, and fastener in the box, cut and pre-drilled to spec, with nothing to source at a local yard.

Homeowners, contractors, farms, and businesses use them to cover vehicles, patios, pool decks, livestock, and equipment — anywhere shade and shelter have to stand up to real weather. Real starting prices are published on every product page, no phone call required.

The Standard

Built to a commercial spec — not a big-box one.

The difference is in the metal. Our frames are formed from commercial-grade S350 structural steel and finished in ZAM® — a zinc-aluminum-magnesium coating that outlasts ordinary galvanizing, holding its corrosion protection even at cut edges and in coastal, high-humidity climates.

  • Commercial-grade S350 structural steel — not light-gauge big-box tubing
  • ZAM® zinc-aluminum-magnesium coating for corrosion life beyond standard galvanizing
  • Engineered to withstand up to 185 MPH wind and 60 PSF snow load
  • Engineer-stamped, permit-ready drawings in every kit

Every kit ships engineer-stamped and permit-ready, with site- and state-specific engineering available where local conditions require it.

Our Engineering

Stamped, sealed, permit-ready.

Steel Shade Kits are engineered in the USA and ship with engineer-stamped drawings rated to 185 MPH wind and 60 PSF snow — the documentation a permit office asks for, prepared before the kit ever leaves the line. When a jurisdiction or soil report calls for more, site-specific engineering is available on request.

The Innovation

A foundation without the concrete.

A conventional shade structure begins with dug footings, rebar, and a concrete pour that has to cure before anyone can build on it. Our EZ Foundation replaces all of it with a driven-steel pile-cap anchor — a two-person crew sets it with hand tools in about a day, with no digging, no concrete, and nothing to wait on. It's the piece that makes a genuinely DIY-friendly steel building possible.

How It Ships

Complete kits, factory-direct, built your way.

We sell factory-direct and ship nationwide, which keeps commercial-grade steel within reach of a residential budget. Every kit is designed to be assembled by a capable DIY builder — or handed to one of our certified installers. Either way the kit is identical, and it's complete: what's in the box is the whole structure.

For the Long Haul

A dealer network, and a warranty behind it.

Beyond direct sales, we partner with distributors, dealers, and certified installers through our partner program — the people who quote, build, and stand behind these structures in local markets nationwide. And every Steel Shade Kits structure is backed by a 25-year limited warranty, because a kit engineered to this standard should last like one.

Let's build something that lasts.

Tell us about your site and we'll spec the right kit and foundation — permit-ready, engineer-stamped, shipped direct.
